What makes a wine beautiful?
To The Black Olive all of this is important as we strive to build the best wine list the Mid-Atlantic has ever seen! Follow us as we reach for that goal.
What Do Wine and Green Building Have to do With Each Other?
If you like good wine you should support “Green Building”
Wine is an essential part of the big picture here at the Black Olive. Our wine list has won nationwide acclaim and has helped us to become one of the best dining experiences in Baltimore.
Wine will play an even bigger part in our newest project, The Inn at The Black Olive: Each of the Inn’s guest rooms will be named after a Greek grape varietal.
The Olive Room, an exclusive rooftop wine room will feature selections from organic and sustainable wineries;and the gourmet market on the ground floor will sell selected wines from vineyards we work closely with.
We have long recognized that wine making must be an environmentally and economically sustainable practice. We have sought to fill our list with organic wines that preserve the biodiversity of the precious grape species. But the high-performance energy efficient building we are constructing lets us take those efforts a step further.
Here is the argument. Carbon emissions cause climate change.Buildings have a carbon foot print. Climate change drasticly effects grape producing regions. No more Chateau de Beaucastel.
